Black Slides Across the Line to win Daytona 200

Daytona Beach, FL -- The NASRA RPM Cup Series kicked back in high gear Thursday night for the 6th annual running of the Daytona 200. Pre race favorite Jordan Robson would take the pole for the event and lead the opening 10 laps before being challenged by Pete Engelmanas for the lead of the race. The races first caution came when Bertus De Jong and Matt Riley made contact sending both cars around.

The race would then resume with a 13 lap green flag run as several drivers took turns swapping the lead, however a multi car crash took out contenders like Mike Garaguso and Connor Mackenzie. Garaguso however would get the worst of the incident, needing a tow back to pit road and losing 2 laps.

From that point on the race ran clean with Pete Engelmanas, Mike Husby and Brett Black rising to the top of the field. They paced the field untill 17 laps to go when De Jong got into Stephen Black coming down pit road resulting in a caution. This caution would set up a wild sprint to the finish.

A late Caution with less than 10 laps to go took out strong contenders Mike Husby, Jordan Robson, Kip Barker and a host of others. On the final lap Brett Black had the lead with the 18 of Engelmanas and the 01 of Harry O'Neill following him. Engelmanas made the move to the outside with no help and drew even with black, however Black's teammate Harry O'Neill got to the back bumper of the 10 car and shoved him sideways across the line for the victory.

The race was Blacks first career Daytona 200 win as well as his first ever NASRA victory. Rounding out the top 10 were Pete Engelmanas, Harry O'Neill, Chris Darling, Wesley Hoag, Dave Collard, Johnny Williams, Andrew Hayes, Nick Silver and David Damboise.

Next week both the NASRA Supertruck and Cup Series shift gears and head out to Las Vegas. Dont miss out on Las Vegas, it is sure to be an exciting race!
