Engelmanas Wins UAW-Dodge 175
Las Vegas, NV -- The NASRA Cup Series headed back out west to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Heading into this race Las Vegas had a history of producing first time winners, but would it happen again.
Jordan Robson continued his impressive qualifying run and nabbed the pole for the event. However it didnt not take long for trouble to strike. On the opening lap a multi car incident took out the defending winner of the race David Krikorian as well as Stephen Black.
It would not take long for the contenders of the race to show their faces, as Pete Engelmanas, Jordan Robson and Eric Monaco exchanged the lead several times. The middle of the race had a mostly green look to it, with only a few minor incidents causing problems for some cars running towards the back.
The race would restart with over 20 laps to go with Pete Engelmanas leading the 71 of Eric Monaco. Monaco would try to get to the back bumper of the 18 but as the tires wore off the 18 was able to stretch it out a little on Monaco. Justin Brooks would attempt to make a charge for the lead in the final laps but was unable to make a move, meaning the #18 M&M's Toyota of Pete Engelmanas would take the checkerd flag and come home in 1st place.
Rounding out the top 10 were, Brooks, Monaco, Darling, Robson, Husby, Garaguso, Stanley, Phillip & Johnny Williams.
Next week both the Cup and Truck Series head to the bull ring at Bristol. Bristol has always produced some interesting finishes and you wont want to miss out!
