Williams wins action packed Helluva Good! 100
Dover, DE - Johnny Williams took home the checkered flag on Tuesday night's Helluva Good! 100. Williams wins his 1st SuperTruck win of 2009 over hard charging Pete Englamanas and Brandon Ward. When the green flag flew, 15 trucks were ready to rumble at Dover, with Eric Monaco and Mike Husby leading them there. The trucks would then run a 41 lap green flag run which saw plenty of side-by-side racing and saw Eric Monaco as a potential race winner. Monaco, however, would suffer a transmission problem that would leave him without a 4th gear, opening the door for Jordan Robson in the #16 NOS Ford. Robson would take the lead away from Monaco on pit road after taking a gamble with 2 tires instead of taking 4 like everyone else. Robson would hold the lead for nearly 30 laps until getting into an incident with Chris Darling that brought out a late caution. This would open the door for Johnny Williams as he led Brandon Ward and Englemanas with less then 10 to go.Ward would suffer problems and would be forced to retire, causing a GWC finish. Williams and Englemanas would takeoff offering an exciting finish. Englemanas couldn't catch Williams in time as Johnny took the checkered over 2nd place Pete Englemanas, Cory Spencer, Nick Silver and Thomas Mohl Jr rounded out the top 5. Next week the trucks head to Michigan to take on the high and fast banks. Who will be the points leader after we leave? Find out next Tuesday in the Cabelas 150!
