Rockingham, NC -- Tuesday nights race was a good one as it marked the return of Frankie Stickley and the birth of a new champion Dave Collard. The race got underway with Mike Husby taking his 4th pole of the season. Husby led the first 3 laps and handed the lead over to Frankie Stickley on lap 4. Cory Spencer brough out the first caution on lap 35 when he blew a right front tire going into turn 3, this would end his championship hopes. This race had several long runs due to it being a 1 groove race but the next caution came out when Brent Sweet made contact with eventual champion Dave Collard. Collard would stay out on this caution to lead a lap making the championship battle even tighter. Frankie Stickley led most of the race, enroute to the win. Dave Collard finished in 4th tieing Mike Husby in the Championship run. It took a while before NASRA officials announced the tie breaker going to who had more top 5's. Dave Collard won the tie breaker and won the Season 5 NASRA Super Truck Series title in his rookie season. Next year should be a good one with new and returning drivers coming to NASRA. The NASRA Super Truck series has a lot to live up to with this epic battle for the championship this season. Will it be close again next year? We will just have to wait and see. See you next year at Daytona!
