Engelmanas takes 3rd Win of Season!
Kansas City, KS -- The NASRA Cup Series headed to the midwest this week, to Kansas where drivers had to fight both the racetrack and their racecars. Points leader Pete Engelmanas took the pole for the event, beating out Mike Husby.
The race got off to a good start as the drivers were able to spread out and get a good green flag run with the #18 showing the way. However an incident between Bertus De Jong, Hank Lee & Matt Trace would slow the field.
From that point on the race would have a mostly green look at included green flag pit stops. However a caution with 12 laps to go set up some late race drama. Eric Monaco who was leading at the time took four tires, while Pete Engelmanas took two. The two tires would pay off in the end as Engelmanas pulled away from Monaco to take his third victory of the season and extend his points lead.
Next week the Cup Series is off but then heads to the Brickyard in two weeks for the Allstate 200@ The Brickyard. However, the trucks race next weekend in Kentucky, hope to see you there!
